Dr. Darren Larsen
Darren graduated from the University of Alberta with
a B.Sc. in Microbiology in 1986, attended Medical School at the
University of Calgary until 1989, and then did his Rotating Internship
and one year of Internal Medicine residency at the University of
Ottawa until 1991. He is married to Dr. Janet Morse, and joined
our practice with her in 1995 following two years of work in Ottawa
and another two in rural Alberta.
Darren also wears many hats outside of his practice.
In the past, he served as a Consultant to the Ministry of Health
and Long Term Care Primary Care Team, implementing Family Health
Networks/Groups/Teams with a special interest in group governance.
He is a Medical Consultant to MD Physician Services (Canadian Medical
Association) teaching Practice Management to residents at seven
Canadian Universities, and the "Business of Medicine"
to currently practising doctors at various medical education events.
As well, he is a Peer Leader with OntarioMD/Canada Health Infoway
assisting medical groups with the full and effective implementation
of their Electronic Medical Records. In 2010/2011 Darren is pursuing
a Masters Certificate in Physician Leadership at the Schulich School
of Executive Management.
Darren works in the office on: Mondays, Tuesdays,
and Thursdays.
